God’s Power is MORE than Words!

1 Corinthians 4:19-20

19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. 20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.

Many people today say many things under the banner of God and Jesus. They claim to know the understanding of the Word but are deceiving many by their persuasive speech and ability to move emotions. Many cast out the working of the Holy Spirit and others claim to walk in the anointing if God without the proof. So what’s the proof of the anointing and real calling of God? It’s in the real power of God. The kind of power that has tangible signs attached to it. Whether these signs are healing, prophetic or other gifts of the Holy Spirit, the proof is in the power.

I know many people who claim to be experts on the Bible and God’s will over the church and how ministry should be run, but I say that unless you have the proof of anointing you are not an expert or source to challenge or judge any ministry because you have yet to pay the price the Lord requires for the anointing and maturity of a seasoned leader. Humility is essential to knowing, learning, and experiencing the growth of anointing and power; without humility we have only pride which brings destruction.

So if you want to know if any person is a proper source to listen to concerning the Word of God you must discern 2 things: (1) Are the words being taught aligning with the Word of God? (2) Is there power accompanying the words spoken? The Kingdom of God is not in words but in power! Any person that has not had the power of God demonstrated in and through their life has not yet paid the price to be a source that is looked upon as a spiritual head.

This is what Paul was referring to as he said “…and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.” He was explaining that there will be many people that will seem as though they are a source to listen to but we must guard ourselves against wolves in sheepskin (Matthew 7:15). So the word teaches that we can discern through the power and not the words only. That is why we must look at both the words spoken and the tangible power as well!

Our God is powerful, and so are His servants! If you have not yet walked in His power, my prayer for you is that you ask God to have His power in operation in your life and that you then step out in faith and pray for people connected to you and also people you meet in a public place.

Give God the opportunity to use you and He will! Praise God!

Are you blessed?
