Matthew 6:19 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”
Where is your treasure? What do you value most in your life? What are the things you feel you could never part with? What are your most important goals?
Now, ask yourself…does this align with the destiny and calling for your life? Are these the things that God values? Is your hearts desire aligned with God’s hearts desire?
God’s treasure is eternal and connected to eternal things and His desire is that us as His children place the highest of value on eternally purposed things not worldly things. The things the world holds in high value bring no eternal reward. Money, houses, cars, fame, bring nothing of value in the Heavens but only a temporary fixation and connection to earth. Television teaches what the world values as you can see it with celebrities, politicians, young business men, etc. But if we as believers get our eyes on Heavenly things as God does then we begin to shift our focus off of selfish things to Godly purpose.
As a young man, I want to begin making investments not in earthly things as they can only bring earthly rewards that as Jesus teaches can be destroyed, corrupted and stolen; no I want my investments to last forever in the Kingdom of God – HOW? – in people!
What is God’s sole desire? His desire is that people come to the eternal love and salvation of Jesus and dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Yes! That’s where I want to invest … In loving people as Jesus did and lead them to Him. I want Hell empty and Heaven full! I want everything I do to ultimately achieve this result!
Money is not bad, in fact it is quite necessary to achieve anything on the earth, so therefore money becomes a tool to accomplish a task. So what tasks are we accomplishing with the tool God has given us? Are they purely selfish in nature or are we using this tool as God is directing us to achieve things in the Heavens. If we do as He speaks then we position ourselves to activate Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” So we must remember that money is not evil, but a tool. It is the love of money that destroys the soul as worldly desire becomes the cry of the heart!
God is raising up a NEW generation more hungry for God’s power than anything else. They will be empowered with money because God will be able to trust the use!
THOUGHTS? Would love to discuss further…
