Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,”
Did you know that God has given you the measure of faith? YES YOU!! Some people think that this is only for holy people or for pastors/evangelists/teachers/etc. This is for you and me and whomever desires it and pursues God to get it! The key in understanding our gifts and this measure of faith is that it is not on our own doing that we have received it but by God’s grace alone.
We are nothing in and of ourselves and it is an easy trap of the enemy for us to look at our gifts that God has given us by grace and think that we have created them in and of ourselves. We must be careful not to be self focused but Kingdom focused for the salvation of souls and the edifying of our Christian brothers and sisters.
Every person is gifted different yet equal in God’s eyes. While some my preach, some may prophesy, some may have administration gifts, and some may be a gifted exhorter. No matter any person may do for the Kingdom it is equally valued in God’s eyes if they are operating in their full potential. If you ever find yourself feeling “better” than some else I would challenge you to pray against this as you are viewing yourself in a self righteous way and more often than not acting out of insecurity as opposed to the love of God.
Remember, the LOVE of God is POWER! This is our source and our flesh is what will drain the power. If you want the power of God then you must die to the flesh, those “high” thoughts, and think “soberly” of yourself as God has dealt all of us the measure of faith.
While it is not uncommon to think “more highly” than we ought, it is equally possible for some people to look at themselves in such a defeated manner that they do not think of themselves as highly as they should. Think on this…you are a child of God and you have been given His grace that is more powerful than any other force on the planet!
So while you are not to look at yourself more highly than others in the body of Christ you should view yourself above the sin of this world and the lies and attack the enemy! You have FAITH!!! You have POWER!!! You are God’s child full of His Spirit…walk BOLDLY in this! You are a power packed, gifted, faith filled, favor filled, world changer! This is how God looks at you…so get His image…it’s so much better than the world’s image!
I am praying for you and I hope you are praying for me as well! WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST TOGETHER! Let’s always act like it:)
Are you blessed? Tell me!! Tell Others!! Write your comments!
In Christ Jesus,
