Desire to Reality…How Do We Do It?

“…ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

IMG_4260Have you ever thought about how God could use you to reach people? Have you ever wondered about what it would take to feed people who are hungry or clothe people who have no clothes? Have you ever had a desire in your heart but were confused on how to pursue it? I know that I have and I want to share a couple of things today to inspire you and challenge you to stretch out your faith and watch God do miracles THROUGH you!

During our recent Hope For Ireland campaign we had the desire to do just this. As God connected me with a great local ministry in the city of Dublin, we began to strategize a way to feed, clothe, pray and preach the gospel to those who have nothing. Through planning, raising money, coordination and recruiting volunteers we watched an amazing thing take place. As the appeal was given to churches we saw thousands of pieces of clothing get collected in just 3-4 weeks. Local cooks andIMG_4220 volunteers were gathered and a portable kitchen was rented to cook food for these wonderful people on the street that have so little. The priest of the Anglican Church of Ireland offered their historic cathedral building to us for the outreach and the dreams and planning became a reality as so many came through the doors. As they ate their food I had the incredible opportunity to preach Jesus and so many responded to the challenge of following Christ. Our team had so many one on one interactions and truly the Holy Spirit was powerfully at work in all of our conversations. These people were so blessed and many were eternally impacted and will never be the same!

So…how do YOU stretch out YOUR faith to do the things God is putting in your heart? It wasn’t long ago my wife Teri and I had the desire to coordinate and help people like this. We were pressed into the same challenge every good-hearted Christian is put into…HOW! How do you turn desire into reality?

The Bible says in Matthew 14:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

We can see here Jesus clearly starts us off with 2 things to turn desire into reality:

1 – Abiding in Him. When we connect with Jesus through prayer, He will show us exactly how to do something – Especially for HIS KINGDOM. He wants you to do these things but He wants to give you the plan on how to do it. Many times we may feel that in order to accomplish these tasks we have to do them on our own. Other times we may feel we should put the burden on our pastor/church to do all the work. I feel it is an absolute mixture of both concepts, however what I am getting at with this point is when you abide in Him, the Holy Spirit will guide you and show you what and how to do it! Awesome!

2 – Abiding in His Word. If you want to turn a desire into reality, read in the word about what you want to do. Sometimes our desires are fleshly and need pruning to be in alignment with God’s will. Other times we may need guidance as to what our true desires really are before we begin to step forth with action. If you abide in His word, you will allow the living word of God to speak to your spirit and bring balance to every thought you are having.

So that’s the 1st lesson. Abide in Him through prayer and reading of the word. It is so simple yet most people don’t do this and get so frustrated when they ask God for the desires of their heart. If we will humble ourselves we can hone our desires to match and be the desires of our father’s heart in Heaven.

I pray you take this simple word and take the challenge! Let the Holy Spirit guide you and be amazed at how God will use YOU. AMEN!

Are you blessed? Tell me:)

Praying for you,

Pastor Aaron

Jesus Is What YOU Allow Him To Be

Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Did you know that God desperately needs you? He is recruiting and waiting for bold people who are willing to say YES to the challenge of the recruitment.

A couple of years ago my wife Teri and I were invited to spend a weekend with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and handful of other people. I’ll never forget such a simple truth that he brought forth when he said “Jesus is what you preach him to be. If you don’t open your mouth, Jesus is silent, but when you speak the gospel you are spreading good news for all to hear.”

This simple truth is always so true in our evangelistic meetings around the world. During our most recent Hope For Ireland meeting I IMG_5234saw this truth become reality again as the Holy Spirit gave me the messages for each night. One night I spoke of the healing power of Jesus to our physical bodies and many were healed. Another night I spoke on the power of God over sin through the mind of Christ and so many came to confess their sins and were radically set free. We were so blessed to see people RESPOND to the messages spoke. Faith was rising through every word to believe what God was speaking and that faith turned into a life-changing response.

I hear so many say that they don’t “feel” Jesus in their everyday life. Some say that they feel their prayers fall on deaf ears and yet others are wildly living in miracles, peace and the life God wants for them. So why does it feel so lop-sided? Why does it seem some are so connected to God while others who seem to want to be don’t feel that they are? I would answer these questions by simply saying that those who are active in their faith see the reality of Jesus in their life because they are “preaching” him everywhere they are.

Jesus is so cool! The Bible teaches that He will never leave us nor forsake us. This means that if you believe in Christ, He is actually dwelling on the inside of you and is with you at all times. It also means that if you share your faith with any person, the power of God living on the inside of you now has a chance to be ACTIVATED and JESUS IS WHAT YOU ARE PREACHING!

IMG_4631If you have a friend who is constantly struggling with fear and anxiety, speak Jesus to them as the prince of peace. If speak with someone who says they are so alone, explain that He is closer than a brother and more than a father. If you are in a conversation and person expresses how sad and empty they are, speak how Jesus is our joy unspeakable. He is the source of ALL life, not just some life. He is alive and wants to be activated in people everywhere. If we however sit on this wonderful revelation and keep it to ourselves there could be countless people directly connected to you that could be receiving the life of Christ but don’t because they don’t know about it.

Think of it in the simplest terms. I remember when my wife and I purchased a great product that just made our day-to-day life so much better. It was so impressive that we wanted to tell everyone in our life about our purchase so that they potentially would purchase one and receive the benefit as well.

Well is there anything greater than Jesus? NO!! He is the greatest thing that could ever happen in a person’s life and if we keep silent we hinder the power of the Holy Spirit moving and helping those we know and love.

So allow Jesus to come out of your mouth and watch Him do the miracles. He is the one with supernatural power but we are the ones with the natural ability to communicate. Be Bold, Be Strong, Be a Courageous Christian!

Are you blessed by this thought today? Tell me your thoughts:)

In Christ,

Pastor Aaron
