BELIEVE – Part 2 of 3

Believe

Believe – Part 2 of 3

5:36 “36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” (NKJV)

1. Your Journey Began With His Word

Exodus 3:10 “Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Moses and the Children of Israel had a lot of ups and downs together but when God first spoke to Moses that He was going to use Moses to deliver the children of Israel, Moses could barely believe it.  Nonetheless, Moses journey, like yours, will begin with God’s Word over your life.  That word was not a word like you and I know it, but it was alive and life giving with creative power.  When you and another Christian talk, they may be able to encourage, exhort and lift you up through the Bible, but when God speaks it is life altering and demands response.  If the journey of our calling begins with His word then the first step towards it is to believe the word!  Let’s take a step and watch what happens!

2. The Path and Challenges were NOT revealed

Here is something to think about when it comes to the story of Moses and the children of Israel: Although the Exodus and the promise land was prophesied, there were several things that were not specifically given to them.  They had to walk the journey and live off of one thing – BELIEF. The Plagues, the extra beating and labor when Moses appealed to Pharaoh, the escape with the Egyptian army on their backside and the seemingly uncrossable Red Sea.  All the challenges were a part of the journey but the word was the only thing they could hold on to.  Your life may feel this way too but just because you have some challenges, remember that Jesus said DO NOT BE AFRAID; ONLY BELIEVE.  Hold onto the word and it will carry you through every challenge and obstacle in your way – AMEN!

3. You Will Overcome

Just remember that even as Moses walked through the most challenging things of his life, it began after his pursuit of the call.  Don’t lose sight of the fruit of each phase in life of your call.  Remember that every season has a purpose and every season will yield fruit if you let it.  Be full of hope and expectancy through all things – God will never let his word fail you!  Amen, let’s hold on to that today!

I’m praising God for your life and the purpose He has for you!

Praying for you,

Pastor Aaron

Desire to Reality…How Do We Do It?

Desire-to-Reality-Blog2

“…ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

IMG_4260Have you ever thought about how God could use you to reach people? Have you ever wondered about what it would take to feed people who are hungry or clothe people who have no clothes? Have you ever had a desire in your heart but were confused on how to pursue it? I know that I have and I want to share a couple of things today to inspire you and challenge you to stretch out your faith and watch God do miracles THROUGH you!

During our recent Hope For Ireland campaign we had the desire to do just this. As God connected me with a great local ministry in the city of Dublin, we began to strategize a way to feed, clothe, pray and preach the gospel to those who have nothing. Through planning, raising money, coordination and recruiting volunteers we watched an amazing thing take place. As the appeal was given to churches we saw thousands of pieces of clothing get collected in just 3-4 weeks. Local cooks andIMG_4220 volunteers were gathered and a portable kitchen was rented to cook food for these wonderful people on the street that have so little. The priest of the Anglican Church of Ireland offered their historic cathedral building to us for the outreach and the dreams and planning became a reality as so many came through the doors. As they ate their food I had the incredible opportunity to preach Jesus and so many responded to the challenge of following Christ. Our team had so many one on one interactions and truly the Holy Spirit was powerfully at work in all of our conversations. These people were so blessed and many were eternally impacted and will never be the same!

So…how do YOU stretch out YOUR faith to do the things God is putting in your heart? It wasn’t long ago my wife Teri and I had the desire to coordinate and help people like this. We were pressed into the same challenge every good-hearted Christian is put into…HOW! How do you turn desire into reality?

The Bible says in Matthew 14:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

We can see here Jesus clearly starts us off with 2 things to turn desire into reality:

1 – Abiding in Him. When we connect with Jesus through prayer, He will show us exactly how to do something – Especially for HIS KINGDOM. He wants you to do these things but He wants to give you the plan on how to do it. Many times we may feel that in order to accomplish these tasks we have to do them on our own. Other times we may feel we should put the burden on our pastor/church to do all the work. I feel it is an absolute mixture of both concepts, however what I am getting at with this point is when you abide in Him, the Holy Spirit will guide you and show you what and how to do it! Awesome!

2 – Abiding in His Word. If you want to turn a desire into reality, read in the word about what you want to do. Sometimes our desires are fleshly and need pruning to be in alignment with God’s will. Other times we may need guidance as to what our true desires really are before we begin to step forth with action. If you abide in His word, you will allow the living word of God to speak to your spirit and bring balance to every thought you are having.

So that’s the 1st lesson. Abide in Him through prayer and reading of the word. It is so simple yet most people don’t do this and get so frustrated when they ask God for the desires of their heart. If we will humble ourselves we can hone our desires to match and be the desires of our father’s heart in Heaven.

I pray you take this simple word and take the challenge! Let the Holy Spirit guide you and be amazed at how God will use YOU. AMEN!

Are you blessed? Tell me:)

Praying for you,

Pastor Aaron
